- W (Week Number)
- The first column indicates the calendar week in which the first day of the festival falls. Weeks are numbered in accordance with ISO-8601. Weeks run from Monday to Sunday; week 1 is the first week with four or more days in a new calendar year. The only intended purpose of the week number is to assist in identifying concurrent festivals.
- When
- The second column shows the start and end dates of the festival. If the festival is in progress when you load the page, the festival entry in the list will be highlighted with a yellow background. Once the festival has ended, it is shunted off to the archive list or, if there is no beer list, simply deleted.
- What & Where
-
The third column gives the name of the festival. Pub festivals are shown in Red, CAMRA beer festivals are shown in Green and non-CAMRA festivals are shown in Black. I define a non-CAMRA beer festival as one, not held in a pub, where the majority of the profit goes to charitable or other 'worthwhile' causes. It is appreciated that local CAMRA branches or members may, nevertheless, have had a significant input into the organisation of the festival.
The venue address is shown with the post code being a clickable link to the Streetmap
website showing the festival location. (Note that post codes do not necessarily identify individual premises and you should allow for a reasonable margin of error.) For information on public transport, try looking through the links in my Travel Kiosk.
If the pub or festival has its own website, the external link symbol
makes a link to that website. I recommend you always check these sites for full information about the festivals, particularly opening times and any ticketing arrangements.
Additional information about the festival may be provided in this column, particularly where the pub/festival does not have its own web site. This is not to say that I won't also include my own subjective opinions. The notes delete automatically once the festival has ended.
- Beer List
- The fourth column contains a link to the festival beer list, where it is available, showing the number of beers on the list. My beer lists are created by cross-referencing original source data against my own beer and brewery database (not currently available on this site, but I'm working on it) and this process may result in some corrections to names and spellings.
- v (Visit Status)
- The fifth column indicates whether I have paid the festival a visit. * indicates, unsurprisingly, a Red Star Visit; v indicates a visit to the festival which involved some element of void travel.
